Thousands of qualified buyers attend 2017 ExpoCam Truck Show

Companion Fleet Maintenance Summit a resounding success

MONTREAL, QC – More than 14,000 people attended the 2017 ExpoCam Truck Show from April 20 to 22, connecting 10,776 industry buyers to 3,410 exhibitors overall.

The biennial show produced by Newcom Média Québec was hosted at Place Bonaventure in Montreal. Newcom also publishes industry magazines including Transport Routier, Today’s Trucking, Truck News, Truck West, Truck & Trailer, and Truck Tech, as well as their affiliated websites and newsletters.

“We’re quite happy with the results of ExpoCam. The revised entrance allowed for more booths to be seen by all the attendees,” said Joe Glionna, president of Newcom Média Québec and Newcom Business Media. “We had some success with our first attempt at a bus program, bringing people in from outside the city. And we’re already looking forward to 2019.”

High-profile product launches at this year’s show included the world debuts of the Volvo VNR and International RH regional tractors.

International was recognized as the show’s platinum sponsor, while Shell Rotella was the gold sponsor. The Quebec Trucking Association (ACQ) and Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) endorsed the show.

This year’s show also featured the companion Sommet canadien sur l’entretien de flotte (SCEF) — a maintenance summit hosted by Newcom Média Québec and PIT Group. That April 19 event was established following the success of the 2016 Canadian Fleet Maintenance Summit, which was hosted in conjunction with the Truck World show in Toronto.

“Close to 180 people attended SCEF, which exceeded our expectations for a first edition. We are thrilled by the positive response we had from the attendees, we listened to their suggestions and we are looking forward to presenting an even better edition in 2019,” said Steve Bouchard, editor of Transport Routier.

The SCEF was supported by the Quebec Trucking Association (ACQ), the Quebec Trucking Technical Committee (CTCQ), and the Society of Transportation Superintendents of Quebec (SST).
